What do our Parish Council eco-audits include:
A Parish Council eco-audit is the assessment of a Parish Council's current environmental
practice and the drafting of a plan with proposals for its improvement.
They include:
- Meeting with Parish Council Clerk and Councillors
- Attendance at a staff-meeting to explain the process and to include employee input
and suggestions
- Site walkabout with person responsible for facilities management
- One-to-one meetings with any strategic decision-makers such as key Councillors, Parish
Council's Finance Director or whoever is responsible for purchasing and HR
- A comprehensive, detailed electronic report detailing where your Parish Council already
has good environmental practice in place and a list of recommendations on how to
improve
- Follow-up visit after one year
- Use of the 3 Acorns Eco-Audited Logo
Our approach is friendly, accessible and down to earth. We aim to ensure that the
process fits in with your particular Parish Council's culture.
Areas covered by the Eco-Audit can include:
- Heating
- Thermal Imaging
- Electricity Use
- Waste/Recycling
- Purchasing Policies
- Management Systems
- Water Use
- Transport
- Potential for Renewable Energies
- Carbon Footprint Calculation
Our approach aims to discover what you are doing well already rather than to find
fault and to help the process of improving your environmental performance constructively.
The courtesy follow-up visit a year later is essential if you are to get the full
value of the time and money you have invested in the eco-audit.
